Elephantopus scaber Linn |
 Other name is called Prickly leaved Elephant’s Foot is a common garden weed. The whole plant, including leaves, is used either fresh or dried. Medicinal uses include addressing anaemia, coughs, cold and liver disorders including hepatitis, and skin disorder.
It is also used in postnatal care decoctions to restore the womb. As a home remedy for liver disorder, fresh root is boiled with meat and this soup is taken four to five days.
Fresh steam of the plant is boiled and the decoction is drunk to relieve stomach discomfort. |
